We went along to Melbourne's new Rectangular Stadium (known as AAMI Stadium) today to get a sneak preview of a magnificent venue. As you can see from the images and the video below us Melburnians will be very proud of our new venue. It is located on Olympic Boulevard in the Sports and Entertainment Precinct, in inner Melbourne, Australia. It will host the Melbourne Storm (NRL), Melbourne Rebels (Super 15), and A-League team Melbourne Victory (soccer) home games.
What with the Melbourne Storm controversy this week and the issues with Melbourne Victory over the stadium holding only 31,000, we went along to see whether the stadium inside looks as magnificent as it does on the outside. We were not disappointed. Obviously there is still some work to be completed for it to be ready for next month when it hosts the rugby league ANZAC test between Australia and New Zealand.
